What Is MangaGenAI?

MangaGenAI (MGA) is a browser-only AI manga and photo creation platform. No installs, no GPU, no Stable Diffusion jargon required. You write a sentence describing what you want — the platform produces a publish-ready image.

Under the hood it taps Google Gemini 3.1 Image and OpenAI GPT Image 2 — two of the most current commercial image models — and lets you switch between them with a single click in the header. All the prompt engineering, character consistency, pose locking, and style control is handled server-side. You only need to describe what you want.

Who It's For

  • Indie comic / Webtoon creators — Use Series Mode to manage multi-episode stories with AI-driven page splitting and character consistency
  • Content creators / social publishers — Turn news, articles, or IG copy into manga posts in one click
  • Designers / brands — Use Freestyle to draft KVs, posters, product imagery, or logo concepts
  • Cosplayers — Generate hanfu / kimono / fantasy character setups, or use Coser editing to swap outfits, hair, or poses
  • Teachers / lecturers — Storyboard scripts, build teaching material, generate course covers
  • Anyone with no art background — Write a sentence, get an image

Two Studios in Parallel

The platform is split into two studios accessed via the top tab switcher:

Manga Studio

Built for narrative content with stories, characters, and panels. Linework, screentones, panel borders, motion lines, and speech balloons are all handled automatically.

Photo Studio

Produces single high-quality portraits or scene shots. The focus here is on backgrounds, lighting, costume detail, and facial consistency.

Manga Studio: 13 Modules

Storyboard (Text-to-Image)

The most basic entry point. Write a script segment or description and get a single page or multiple panels. Three layouts:

  • Single page (page) — Traditional grid layout
  • Long strip (long-strip) — 1:8 Webtoon ratio for mobile scrolling
  • Square (square) — Friendly to IG feed posts

Choose black-and-white manga, full-color American comic, Japanese-style color, and other genre presets.

Series Mode

The core tool for producing full episodes. Workflow:

  1. Upload a script file or paste text
  2. AI auto-splits into pages (split_script) — typically 8 to 30 pages per episode
  3. Director module generates panel layouts for each page
  4. Maintain a Character Asset Library (charRefs) and Location Asset Library (locationRefs) — characters stay visually consistent across pages
  5. Tag character relationships (who-is-who-to-whom) so AI generates plausible dialogue scenes

Supports stacking multiple episodes, with independent layouts per episode.

News-to-Manga

Paste a news URL or full text — AI extracts key points, breaks them into scenes, and generates panels. Great for timely meme posts, social commentary, or news adaptation. The "focus points" field lets you guide AI emphasis (e.g., "highlight the victim's perspective").

Camera-to-Manga

Take a real photo and convert it to a manga style. You can specify "character attributes" like expression, outfit, or hairstyle to extend the source into a full manga character.

Character Design

A tool for single-asset production. Describe in a few sentences and get a character's full-body design sheet, multiple expressions, and multi-angle views — or a location's wide / medium / close-up shots. Optional "remove background" produces a transparent PNG.

Refine (Pose Master)

Pose-locked generation. Usage:

  • Base image — The character whose look you want preserved
  • Control image (optional) — A skeleton map / pose lineart / or another action reference
  • AI re-poses the base character to match the control image while keeping face, clothing, and hairstyle intact

Without a control image, it falls back to prompt-only guidance.

Inpainting

Paint a region — AI redraws only that area. Two modes:

  • Removal mode (auto-detected via keywords like "remove", "delete"): clears the target object and inpaints the background
  • Modification mode: replaces the masked region with whatever you describe (e.g., "change to a red dress")

You can upload a second reference image so the modification stylistically matches it.

Redraw

Re-renders the entire photo while preserving subject silhouette and composition. Good for "I love this composition but want a different art style".

Translation (Manga)

Upload an existing manga panel — AI detects speech bubble text → translates → re-typesets back into the bubbles. Up to 4 target languages in parallel (zh-TW / zh-CN / en / ja / ko / ms). The "emotional typesetting" toggle adapts font size and weight to dialogue emotion (shouting → big bold, whisper → small thin).

Collage Studio

After generation, assemble images into a complete page or episode. Choose vertical long-strip, page grid, or IG-friendly tiles. Export as:

  • JPG (single long image)
  • PDF (multi-page printable)
  • CBZ (standard comic archive)

Coser Hub

Mask-based editing tailored for cosplay content. Upload photo, paint mask, pick an action preset:

  • Hair color / style
  • Outfit (hex color specifiable)
  • Pose
  • Scene
  • Identity-lock (preserveIdentity) intensity

Batch generation supports multiple variants for style selection.

Library

Every generation auto-archives. Browse, iterate further, or feed back as reference into other tools. Each image stores its original prompt, model, and parameters — one click to restore those settings.

Audiobook / Video Studio

Planned / experimental. Adds TTS narration to series manga, converts to video (Veo model pipeline). Limited public access for now; full release will be announced separately.

Photo Studio: 4 Modules

Hanfu Photo

A photo mode designed for East Asian historical figures. The model understands hanfu cuts (qixiong, ru-skirt, pibo, yunjian, etc.), accepts dynasty-specific styles, accessories, and scenes (gardens, palaces, landscapes). You can upload a personal photo for facial consistency.

Kimono Photo

Japanese kimono portraits. Includes furisode, tomesode, yukata, and men's kimono variants, with backgrounds spanning festivals, cherry blossoms, shrines, and traditional tea rooms.

Magic Photo

Fantasy-style portraits. Mage, elf, dragon-blood, cyberpunk, steampunk, and other settings are built in. Backgrounds and lighting auto-match the character profile.

Freestyle

Pure pass-through mode — no manga or photo style is forced. Up to 4 reference images, brand primary + accent colors (hex), and a negative prompt are all supported.

Main use cases:

  • Product packaging drafts
  • Posters / KVs / banners
  • Logo design
  • Pure upscaling and aspect-ratio change (without distortion — as of v2.0, the frontend pre-pads the canvas to the target ratio with a black letterbox, then the model outpaints the bars while preserving subject proportions 100%)

Full Multi-Language Support

The platform UI and all generated content support 6 languages:

  • 繁體中文 (Taiwan)
  • 简体中文 (Mainland China)
  • English
  • 日本語
  • 한국어
  • Bahasa Melayu

The Translation module also lets you convert generated manga directly to other language versions without regenerating from scratch.

Dual-Model Toggle

Top-right toggle in the header switches between:

  • Gemini 3.1 Flash Image Preview — Google's model. Faster, strong on East Asian face recognition.
  • GPT Image 2 — OpenAI's model. Higher color saturation, better for Western comic styling.

Both models cost the same on MGA (1K = 50P / 2K = 80P / 4K = 120P), so you can A/B them and pick the output you like.
